Glamour Stock

This months gallery ties up to Glamour Stock.

The various positions of the model will cause the light density to alter. The naked female figure, with its subtly , graceful curves, sharply defined highlights and sensuous areas of deep shadow, can be appealing without being explicitly erotic. Glamour is to chocolate cake what the punch line is to comedy. The models participation and enjoyment is clearly revealed in this display. Self-consciousness or insecurity will be revealed in the final pictures, so pick a girl with a bright personality. An experienced model is essential, knowing what you want to achieve will help you get the models confidence and cooperation, without which good glamour shots are quite impossible. The nude female figure, either depicted by sculpture, painting or photography, is a sexual object however subtly presented. The division between art "graphic art study" and the clear erotic or pornographic is indeed narrow in photography. This is as a result of public acceptance of the nude female form in an artist sense. The nude figure through study can help perceive and depict shape, form and texture in an attractive way. Although the camera has acquired a voyeuristic reputation and can stray in to the banality with erotic undertones. But even if the intention of a shot is erotic, the approach need not be sexually explicit. The lighting and attention to focus on the models skin, highlighting its texture, contrasting the smoothness with rough and the surrounding decor can set the mood of a photograph. But the cliché to say that a partly clothed body can be more attractive than a naked one. Is certainly true. Selective back lighting and side lighting can give a photograph a level of mystery. Shadows can help create depth and realism to the surrounding and the model. While harsh frontal lighting can leave a model with nothing to hide, taking away its artistic value and not leaving much to the imagination. It would be in the photographers best interest to give same thought to props, furniture or the setting of the mood of the photograph. Giving your photograph a surreal feel whilst maintaining the required under lining theme. The use of a soft-focus lens and soft lighting can create unlimited number of fantasies as long as the elements are blended so that they work together. A good set. Click on the image to enlarge.
