Back to Basics Example

To the inexperienced eye you may well think, "yeah nice picture, so what?" Achieving pictures like this one time and time again is what good glamour photography is about. It's all here and proves how lighting and camera work together to produce something that looks so natural.

You could spend months playing around in a studio with lights and never come even close to this sort of lighting. The actual place the model is sitting has been lit. By that I mean the studio space wasn't lit generally, each and every light has been tested with a flash meter. It's the subtlety of the lighting that makes this so good and the shame is, this is the sort of picture that makes anyone think they could reproduce it easily. The only way to really learn how to acheive this is by practice and knowing what you did wrong when it doesn't work. It's certainly not the greatest glamour picture, but it's bread and butter quality if you want to achieve some note with your work.
