Thank you for visiting my webpage. Hope you'll enjoy it. I hope this will give you an insight into Eugene Struthers. On this page I'll tell you some things about him: Eugene Struthers is of Scottish / Irish / Italian ancestry. He was born in the Northern Cape, South Africa in a town called Sishen. The location of a large iron ore mine, which is part of a trans-frontier park with Botswana. Famous for its African grey elephants. He spent his childhood growing up in an expat British and American community in Gaborone Botswana. His parents who are both Scottish and from Glasgow. Immigrated to Africa in the mid 60's with a British employment contract. They were part of a generation termed the ten pound poms, a colloquial term used for those Brits that went to Australia. It was also coined by other Brits who went off to Canada, the USA or Africa. His mother a kindgarten teacher managed and run one of the first multi-racial, multi-ethnic pre-primary schools called Noddy play school. This school catered for the requirements and needs of the growing expatriates and diplomatic staff community children. It was one of many in Botswana at the time. Eugene's father a merchant marine engineer officer, was employed at the main power station in Gaborone. He attended the local American primary school near the city centre. It was here that his imagination and love for creative writing was spurned and nurtured. However it would be some years until his hidden talent for writing was discovered and he become conscious of his natural ability. Some years.... Lost years. At the age of 15, Eugene was involved in a severe car accident. He sustained multiple injures after going through the front window of a car. A few of these scars are still noticeable today. After some three hundred and eighty six stitches, Eugene was left with facial scars running across the top of his eyes, one on his chin and others which he has already under gone plastic surgery for. He also sustained critical head injures, a fractured skull. And still till this day, suffers from head aches related to this head trauma. From a very young age he always wanted to became a writer and journalist. But due to financial restrictions, and getting ill advised and messed around. He had to put his dream on hold until he could afford and find the most suitable course to study. Whilst working full time during the day he studied various accredited Higher advanced Freelance journalism courses in the evening to fund his dream. Eugene is multi qualified and holds various Accounting, Business and management Diploma's. As well as being an accredited and certified professional journalist. Eugene also holds a Diploma in Teach English as a Foreign Language "TEFL & CELTA level" which is certified by the College of Teachers. His has a strong ability to apply himself to accomplish and finish a set core of course subjects within a given time period. Which in Eugene's words means when he is bored he will study some thing. Eugene is currently working as a Freelance Journalist and Photographer. And is putting the finishing touches to his Free Photography course, whilst completing a novel. He has a high appreciation of the journalism profession from various perspectives. And has struggled for a while to keep his head above the water whilst working on a freelance basis. He has been a journalist and photographer for nine years. After working and studying in Amsterdam Holland for four and half years. He is currently studying the Foundation Course in News Reporting (NRDL) with "The National Council for the Training of Journalists" to fore fill a dream and a long forgotten career goal. That of completing his British Journalism qualifications. He is a Full "Member of The Chartered Institute of Journalists" and a Full "Member of the National Union of Journalists". He has had various articles "features" and photographs published in International Newspapers and magazines. And takes pride in going against the grain. He is constantly writing and doing research to expand and develop his portfolio as a journalist and photographer. His free Digital photography course which he has personally written and designed is currently undergoing the final preparation & edit and will be uploaded to his web site shortly. That is once Tiffany and myself get around to giving it the final edit and sign off approval. Eugene enjoys out door and studio photography. And constantly marvels at how lucky he is to have such a great job. He is 100% professional in attitude and approach, and constantly strives to break the boundaries so that his critics are left dumb struck. He enjoys every aspect of photography and has even taught small groups of amateurs various techniques and skills to achieve professional results. His philosophy has always been: " The nude female form can cause so much innocent controversy, isn’t freedom of print and speech great. If they won't let you see it or read it. Then ask why?" He loves art, woman and taking and creating photographs that entwine the two. He has a fascination with "Black and White" photography, and finds them to have more detail, depth in character and contrast. Especially the amount of natural shadows and grey contours. His favourite football team is Newcastle United and the French team "Olympique Lyonnais". His main hobby is collecting antique photographs and cameras. Eugene is a very private person and does not enjoy wasting time. He loves to travel and tries to deviate from the normal tourist holiday packages. He loves the sea and surfing, and hopes to in the future devote more time to his board and same massive waves and half pipes. Eugene is constantly learning and acquiring new photographic skills. He lives and works in England and travels extensively through the UK and Europe. He is single and loves woman and photographing them. To coin a phrase from a famous Hollywood movie, "Eugene does not putt from the rough". I have known Eugene for ten years and have even worked with him when I was a model. He is a very private person and it has taken me several months just to get this update from him for you. His one contradiction is, he hates having is own photograph taken.
