Aspect ratio
![]()
This months gallery ties up to Eugene's article about
Technical aspects of your camera :- Aspect ratio Relationship between the width and height of a picture, describing the proportion of an image format or a photograph. The aspect ratio of a standard 35mm image is 3;2, or three units wide to two units high. Anti-aliasing Method of smoothing diagonal lines in digital images to avoid a staircase, or stepping, effect created by individual pixels. Pixellated Digital image in which its individual picture elements have become visible as squares of colour, usually due to poor resolution or over enlargement of the original image. Reciprocity failure Loss of sensitivity of a film or photographic paper when exposed using an extremely long (or short) shutter speed. This causes a breakdown in the usual reciprocal relationship between aperture and shutter speed. It is most commonly experienced when taking photographs using exposures that are seconds or even minutes long
